Do You Have a Habit of Complaining Too Much?

Indeed. Let's start by interpreting the word itself. In Portuguese, to complain is “reclamar”, which can be read as re-clamar: to cry out again.

Complaining, in essence, is crying out for something, in other words asking the universe to answer you with exactly that. So every time you complain about a behaviour, a habit, other people or life's circumstances... the more the universe will bring that very thing back to you.

When you complain about a situation at work, for example, you may in fact be using your energy to ask, request or even “beg” for it to come your way once again. Is that really what you want? Probably not.

Can you see how it makes sense?

Just observe what happens when you complain. Is anything actually resolved? Does that annoying situation at work that bothers you... simply stop happening? Does that person who behaves in a certain way... stop doing so? Or do these things not only carry on happening in the same way, but also carry on bothering you?

Our thoughts, our words and our requests have power. They can (and should!) be seen as guides on our journey. So, every time you feel like complaining, why not think about how to change that situation so that it simply doesn't happen again?

We should always focus on thinking positively and on finding solutions so that those problems stop happening – rather than wasting our time and our sacred energy recycling them.
